Venue Required!

Dear parents,

Although we are all very pleased with the continuous expansion of our school, we face some challenging issues regarding the capacity of the venue we are holding our festivals and celebrations. If any of our families is aware of a central London venue that could accommodate approximately 500 people we would appreciate if you could email us at governors@stsophiasschool.com

With many thanks.

Happy School Year!

On Saturday 24th September we held our Blessing at the school’s premises. Happy School Year to everyone!

Blessing and late arrival

You are all welcome to the school’s blessing ceremony on Saturday 24th September at 9.30am. Father Theonas kindly requests everyone to be on time as the service needs to have finished by 10am at the latest. Please note that the school phone will be switched off during the blessing and any delayed students will be admitted to school after the end of the ceremony.

We would also like to take this opportunity to stress that classes start at 9.30am. Arriving on time for the start of the lesson is very important for the smooth operation of our school as late arrival is very disruptive for the rest of the class. We would therefore like to let you know that students who arrive after 10.00am will have to wait until break time to be admitted to school.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Information about school drop off and pick up.

Parents and children are kindly requested to enter the school by the gate next to the sitekeepers’ office. This gate will be open between 9.15am and 9.45am but it will be locked after this period. Nursery, Reception and Year 1 parents ONLY will drop off and collect their children from the classrooms. Parents and children of all other classes will make their way to the entrance of the theatre, where the children will be collected by their teachers as a class, and taken to their lessons. Parents will NOT be allowed to wander around any areas of the school buildings. Any latecomers, who arrive after 9.45am, will need to enter by buzzing the gate near the sitekeepers’ office. They will then have to report to the sitekeeper, mentioning Ms Alexandra Samara’s name, and to be escorted in their classes by the headmistress herself. At the end of the day, parents of Year 2 upwards will be able to enter the theatre from 1.00pm, and will remain seated until the teachers bring the children from lessons and hand them over to them, between 1.05pm-1.15pm at the latest. Parents may use the side entrance to exit the theatre if needed. Nursery, Reception and Year 1 children will be collected from their classrooms.

In the interest of all parties we kindly request that you are on time both at drop off in the morning and pick up in the afternoon.

Thank you for your cooperation.

New School Year

We would like to remind parents that school starts this coming Saturday and the term’s fees are now due.

Please log into your account and pay the fees via the website. Following last year’s confusion regarding website payments we have worked hard with our web developers to resolve the problems and have added some Help links to assist you in the process.  If you still encounter problems please let our bursar know so that these can be fixed.

End of year fête

We would like to warmly invite you to our end of year fête, which will take place on Saturday 9th July at 10.00am at St Marylebone 6th Form Centre, 14 Blandford Street, W1U 4A. At the end of the fête pupils will receive their end of year certificates and the 16th  issue of our school magazine. Pupils need to arrive at St Marylebone 6th Form Centre between 9.30am-9.45am.

Temporary change of venue

Please note on Saturday 2nd July our school will not be housed at the main site of St Marylebone School but at St Marylebone 6th Form Centre, which is located approximately behind Waitrose, at 14 Blandford Street, W1U 4AZ. Classes will run as normal from 9.30am -1.15pm and parents will bring and pick their children up from the above address.
