Event in honour of Titos Patrikios

On Sunday 10th March, a delegation of ten representatives of our school attended the tribute event to Titos Patrikios, one of the greatest living Greek poets. In a full house and in a very moving atmosphere, our students stood up confidently on the stage, talked to the poet and offered him the latest issue of our school magazine, where they present their own interpretations on one of his poems. Once again they made us really proud. Well done to all!

International Greek Language Day

On Saturday 9th February our school proudly celebrated the International Greek Language Day. We all attended a special assembly where we listened to a beautiful poem by Titos Patrikios entitled “My Language” as well as to A Level students’ thoughts on the significance of our unique language. Each class also worked on a variety of language projects from attempting to speak in a local dialect to finding Greek words that are commonly used in English and experimenting with writing in Linear B.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

On Saturday our Nursery children delighted us with their future aspirations:

“When I grow up I want to be a policeman to catch the bad guys!”

“I want to become a dentist to take care of little children’s teeth!”

“When I grow up I will be a mum because I love children!”

“When I grow up I will be a queen!”

May all your dreams come true!

Three Hierarchs Day Celebration

On Saturday 26th January we celebrated the Three Hierarchs Day at St Sophia’s Church. The children attended a special liturgy, received the Holy Communion and learnt about the life and works of the patron saints of education listening to the interesting presentations by our A Level students.

Three Hierarchs Day

On Saturday 26th January we will celebrate the Three Hierarchs Day. The school will meet at 9.30 am at the church for a special liturgy which will last approximately one hour. The children who have been appropriately prepared will receive the Holy Communion. If you do not wish your child to receive the Holy Communion during the liturgy could you please let the Form teacher know. You are kindly requested to arrive on time in the morning, as any noise inside the church due to late comers is very disruptive and disrespectful. Please note that after the liturgy the pupils will be transferred  to St Marylebone’s School by coach. All pupils will be collected from the school as usual.

Happy New Year to all our students and families! The school will resume on Saturday 12th January and you are all welcome to the “vassilopita” cutting at 9.45am.

Merry Christmas!

We would like to wish all our students and their families a very merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year!
