Please make sure that the sweets are nuts-free. We would also kindly ask you to give to your children a small amount of money in order to be able to buy the books and cakes. For your information books will cost £0.50-£1 and the same for the cakes. All proceeds will go towards the needs of our school.

We would like to invite you to our blessing ceremony that will take place at the school theatre on Saturday 21st September at 9.45am. Parents who wish to attend are kindly requested to drop off their children as normal and then wait in the playground until called into the theatre.

A very happy school year to all!

The magnificent Greek language!

“Idea, democracy, galaxy, geometry, melody”. Just a bunch of words to remind everyone the wealth, beauty as well as the influence of our unique language in other cultures and civilisations. Thank you Year 6 for such a fantastic assembly!

Outstanding GCSE and A Level results!

This year’s A Level and GCSE results saw outstanding success at St Sophia’s School with more than 50 per cent of all grades achieved the top A*/A grades at A Level and 8/9 at GCSEs. These strong sets of results are testament to the hard work and commitment of our pupils and their teachers. We are very proud of all of them!

Aesop and Frutopia, sea creatures and Karagiozis

The last two assemblies have been magical! Not only did we learn about Aesop and his fabulous fables by Year 1B children but we admired Frutopia characters uniquely created by Year 1A and sea creatures beautifully painted by Year 2B.  We also found out more about Karagiozis figures and saw a bit of shadow theatre in action performed by Year 2A!

Sea creatures through riddles and sayings

“-It reminds us the soup but soup it is not, it’s got ink but pen it is not. What is it?

-The cuttlefish or soupia in Greek”.

This was one of many riddles that Reception children asked us on Saturday testing our knowledge on sea creatures and sea animals. Such an entertaining assembly indeed!

PTA General Assembly

Dear Parents,

The PTA will hold their Annual General Meeting and Elections for a new Executive Committee at 9.45am on Saturday 15th June 2019 in the Music Room (last classroom on the ground floor). Potential candidates for the Committee may register on the day.

Please be on time as the AGM has to finish by 10.30am. Thank you in advance for your interest and active participation. We are looking forward to seeing you all on the 15th.

Xenia Kalogeropoulou at our school!

What a brilliant assembly it was on Saturday! Our beloved children’s author and actress Ms Xenia Kalogeropoulou visited our school and enchanted us all with a fantastic narration of a folk story. A live discussion followed with young and older children asking her a variety of questions about being a writer as well as an actress! This was one of the highlights of the year for all pupils and staff and was absolutely fabulous!
